Day 1: Almaty
Happy to see you in Kazakhstan! On arrival you will have a city tour. Today you will learn more about the Southern capital of Kazakhstan and sites. Don't miss to visit the Green Bazaar where you can buy gifts for your family and friends. Then we will visit Panfilov Park as well wooden complex as Zenkov Cathedral. The tour will be continued visiting the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame dedicated to the freedom and independence of Kazakhstan. In the afternoon we will travel to the Medeo Gorge. This place is known for the highest mountain skating rink in the world and the dam. The next destination is visiting Kok Tobe hill where the tallest TV tower in the world is located. Return to Almaty. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 2: Almaty - Altyn Emel
Today we will travel to Zhetisu. We will drive over an hour on a highway (120 km). We will pass by artificial Kapshagai water reservoir. It is the biggest in Almaty region, with the casinos of "Kazakh Las Vegas" on its bank. On arrival to Tamgaly Tas which is defined to be the first visiting way on the bank of Ili River. In general, Tamgaly Tas is the unique monument of ancient, where you will see descriptions of Buddha's and texts in Tibetan, Kalmyk and other languages carved on the old rocks. They are unidentified and experts trying to unfasten this mystery for over 150 years. You will be told about its history and learn more about its growth. On the opposite side of the river, you will find the scenery in the style of medieval Kazakhstan. It was built for the filming "The Nomad" movie. We will drive to Basshi village (185 km), which is positioned at the territory of Altyn Emel National Park. The next destination is the Singing Dune (80 km). The height is about 150 meters and a length of about 3 km. It is situated in one of the corners of the Altyn Emel National Park. It is located in a few kilometers from the Ili river between the mountains of Big and Small Kalkan. You can see fine pure sand, which starts to "sing" in windy weather like the organ music. On the way you will see a gorgeous panorama views and capture moments. In the south, you can observe reedy strip of the Ili River you will find elaborate mountains of Sogety and Boguty and the white peaks of the Ketmen ridge. On the west the horizon there is the Big Kalkan, and the Small Kalkan from the east. Enjoy wonderful nature of Emel. We will return to Basshi village. Overnight is in a local hotel.
Day 3: Altyn Emel - Charyn Canyon - Kolsai Lakes
Today we will travel to Charyn Canyon at 08:00. It is about 115 km (2 hours). On the way you will relish the impressive panorama and walk to the bottom of the canyon. It is about 2 km over the labyrinth of the Castles Valley. Charyn Canyon is a natural park which is renowned around the world. It was designed during Paleogene and prompts the Grand Canyon of Colorado River in North America. The height is about 150-300 meters. You will be overwhelmed by different shapes and take astonishing photos. Wind and water have formed the beautiful "Valley of Castles". The length of the valley is more than 2 km; width is about 20-80 meters. Afterwards is Transfer to Saty village and overnight.
Day 4: Kolsai Lakes
In the morning you will take the vehicle to one of 4WD local cars, such as "UAZ" or "PAZ". They are Russian car models. You will drive amid the mountain road of 12 km to Kaindy Lake. Kaindy Lake or Birch Lake is placed among delightful pine forest at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. It appeared in 1911 due to the powerful earthquake. It is important to note that its waters are very cold but at the same time see-through and blue like crystal. Then we will return to Saty settlement. Rest is in a guest house.
Day 5: Kolsai Lakes - Issyk Lake - Almaty
The tour will start by travelling to Issyk Lake. You will pass via the most attractive gorges of Trans Ili Alatau as Issyk Gorge located along the Kuldja tract. Observe the burial mounds of Saka period, where the famous "Golden Man" was originated and later become the state symbol of Kazakhstan. We will visit the State Historical and Cultural Museum Reserve "ISSYK". See remains belonged to the history and culture of the Saka period as well as a copy of Golden Man and golden items, ancient ceramics, weapon, elements of horse equipment and the model of Saka burial mound. We will travel to an altitude of 1756 meters above sea level. Enjoy the stunning mountain lake Issyk. It was appeared about 10,000 years ago because of landslide. The height is about 300 meters in height. The enchanted attractiveness of this lake will encourage you. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 6: Almaty - BAO - Sunkar - Almaty
On this day of tour, we will drive to the Big Almaty gorge. It is located at an altitude of 2,510 m above sea level. The Big Almaty Lake is one of the greatest lakes in Trans Ili Alatau. The lake is sparkling and blue and bordered by mountains. The Big Almaty Lake appeared as a result of movement of an old glacier. Its waters are always cold even in July the water temperature does not exceed 10 degrees. Our travels will have a chance to see panorama views and relish the landscape of the unique nature. The Big Almaty Lake is enclosed by the celestial mountain peaks covered with Tian Shan fir-tree, aspen and juniper. In the end of day, we will visit the Falcon Farm and see trained hawks. Transfer to a hotel for sleep.
