The territory of Kyrgyzstan was engaged from the ancient times. The area has seen the ancient civilizations named Saks, Usuns, and Huns relieving each other consequently. It was followed by the rise of Turkic dynasty which later fell into two main kingdoms and Kyrgyz people fell under the power of Western part of the republic. Later in the 9th century having subjugated the Uigur Khanate the Kyrgyz recognized their first independent country.
Later there the Khanate of Karakhanids was formed during the 10 century and lasted two centuries. One of the most noteworthy cities was Balasaguni called after the great Eastern philosopher Jusup Balasaguni. This city used to be the capital of the Karakhanids. You can visit this town even presently and get to see the leftovers of citadel and the tower of 24 meters. You are able to drive there for one hour.
The territory of the country was engaged by the Great Mongolian attacker Genghis Khan in the 13 th century starting the Mongolian Empire. After his death the Empire was split into many small kingdoms among his sons, and the region of fashionable Kyrgyzstan was a part of the Chagatai Khanate.
In the medieval ages the Kyrgyz people went through complicated ethnic transformations and described by incessant wars between the local tribes as well as the attackers.
